Build it from the acoustic duo: add a jazz kit (Kick, Snare, Ride, OH L, OH R), an upright bass with DI and mic, a grand piano pair and a tenor sax, then type “MC” for the announcement mic. Read how to make a stage plot for the layout rules, or the rider PDF guide for what to send.

FAQ

Example questions

Can I edit these examples?

Yes. Each “Open in the studio” link loads the line-up on the stage plot maker, where every tile, channel and mix can be changed. Your edits autosave in this browser.

Why do the channel counts differ so much?

Channel count follows the line-up, not the genre: an acoustic duo needs 6 inputs, a 5-piece rock band 16, a worship team with tracks and talkback 20, and a funk band with three horns and percussion 24.

Are the mic choices a rule?

They are common, safe defaults that most venues stock: SM57 on snare and guitar cabs, Beta 91A in the kick, C414 overheads, J48 active DIs on bass and acoustic. Replace them with what your engineer or the venue prefers.

Which example fits a festival slot?

The funk horn band on a 40 × 24 ft stage with 230V drops is laid out like a festival changeover: drums on an 8 × 8 riser, horns downstage left, percussion upstage left, and six wedge mixes.
